About Me

 

I started Spades Boutique in Feb 2014- as a side hobby to help try to cut cost on my two daughters expanding closets! I would never have guessed we would be where we are  today, and that is thanks to all of you!

 A little bit about me, lets see…. I have been married to my husband now for almost 11 years, we have three amazing kids Kali (11), Adalynn (9) and baby Brady who is 2 months old (born Aug 2021). We also have a big fluff ball lab mix named Coconut (he is 13), and a wooly husky named Bo.  Besides being a full time mommy and wife, I am a licenced cosmetologist and still love to do hair on the side (little bit of kitchen cosmetology is always fun),  I received my BA in Business Administration in 2012 and  was working as an accounting manager for 10 years when the world went crazy with Covid and was let go and decided that I wanted to really focus my time and energy on Spades Boutique and HK Nail Designs and decided I did not want to go back to work.

Both of my girls are type 1 diabetic so when Covid hit it was a blessing in disguise that I was let go from my job because there is no way both my husband and I could work full time and take care of the girls. I have really enjoyed being home with them and slowing down our pace a little bit. Both girls are very active in sports (Kali- softball), and Addy (Ice Hockey and Softball) and we try to be an active family as much as possible- I would say we thrive on busy schedules. I typically try to run a buy a year that is 100% donation to JDRF to help support type 1 diabetes or other charities we are passionate about.
